Acts2024.Media makes Christ-centered worship songs in the languages of believers around the world, from Somali and Hausa to Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese and Burmese. One question kept coming up: what are they singing? The Radio now answers that. (New here? Read why we built our own radio player.)
What the feature does
When an international song plays, the Radio can show its English lyrics, line by line, in time with the music. Each English line comes with the original line under it. The line being sung lights up, and the lyrics move along as the song plays.
The timing comes from the recording itself, not a guess. We match every song's audio against its lyrics, so the highlighted line follows what the singer is actually singing.
How to use it
- In the player bar: when a song has timed lyrics, a microphone button appears. Tap it to open the lyrics above the player.
- On the Radio page: tap Show English lyrics in the large player. A panel slides up so the lyrics have room to breathe, even on a phone.
- Jump around: tap any line to go to that part of the song.
- Scroll freely: scroll back to reread a line. After a few seconds, the lyrics catch up with the song again.
Every international song also shows its English title under the original name, a tag with its country and language, and an English Lyrics button for reading the whole translation and what the song means.
Why it matters
Scripture tells us people "from every nation, tribe, people and language" will worship before the throne (Revelation 7:9). Many of these songs are for believers in places where following Jesus is dangerous, and you can explore them by country. Hearing worship in another language shows us how big God's family is. Understanding the words lets us pray along with brothers and sisters we may never meet.
It's also a way to check what we're making. Each song points to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and anyone can read the English to see that the message is the Gospel.
Try it
Open the Radio, choose International (or Shuffle the World), and tap the microphone. Then pick a country under Countries and listen along in a language you've never sung in before.
If these songs bless you, please think about helping us make more. Here is how to give by Venmo or Zelle. You can even listen in your car.
